The Three-Step System One Multi-Millionaire Uses To Prepare For The New Year

I’ve mentioned Darren Hardy fleetingly in a few of my posts, but I have never really elaborated on his work. If you don’t know who Darren Hardy is, please visit his site and familiarize yourself with him as he really is an exceptional entrepreneur. So, for this post and in preparation for the new year, I’m going to share with you the exact 3-step system he uses every December 31st to prepare for the new year.

But, first, let me give due credit to him and mention that the idea for this article came from Darren Daily, a daily mentoring program, five days out of the week, from Monday-Friday. I have been on that program for a little over a year and I get to listen to Darren impart his wisdom and experience through Darren Daily. If interested, you can sign up here completely free of charge. It has paid dividends throughout the course of my membership and I’m sure it will for you as well.

Second, before we go further, I just wanted to touch upon the importance of mentorship. For those of you who are serious about personal development and growing your business, I’m positive you have heard about the benefits of having a mentor. For those of you who are new to personal development and are budding entrepreneurs, please allow me to be the first to tell you that it is extremely important to have guidance from people who have been on the journey and came out successful on the other side. It will save you resources and help you avoid the common and not-so-common pitfalls on your entrepreneurial journey. Most importantly, it will save you time as you get wisdom and knowledge that can only be gained from experience.

A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether.” – Roy H. Williams

Third, before I go into the topic of this post, I do cruise alongside other successful entrepreneurs by following their podcasts, YouTube channel or subscribing to their daily talks like I did with Darren Hardy. By doing this, I get access to some of the greatest minds of our time and sort of be able to adapt their mentality into my own and come out more knowledgeable and a better person and entrepreneur because of it.

Darren Hardy’s System

Finally, here is Darren Hardy’s video from 12.28.16. I wanted to share  it with you because I believe this will make a HUGE difference in how your 2017 will turn out if you apply it.

Hope you guys found that as valuable as I did! I really treasure the times I get to listen to him in the mornings; It just sets a very positive tone for the rest of the day.

To supplement the video, here is your task (from Darren) to help you apply what he spoke about in the video.

  1. Its amazing that I should come across this as I have been doing the exact same thing before Christmas!!! My personal goal is to not spend a single penny on luxuries this year, to see how much I can actually save in a year! The steps to that goal are not to look online on stores and facebook sale groups. I also know that I tended to spend money when I was bored so I have to make sure that I am doing things and keeping my mind occupied.

Anyway, this is about business and I confess that my goals for my business are not as clear as my personal goals. I would like to do one blog post per day, minimize distractions, get more comments on my posts and build on my youtube channel. Its actually quite hard to set a process at the moment though because my family are coming from overseas and will be here on Tuesday. So I’m not sure when I will have time to work on my business. Any suggestions for working in family time with business time?

    1. Hi Emma! Thank you for the comment and that’s an awesome personal goal 🙂 I went through a similar goal a few years ago as I noticed I started living paycheck to paycheck so I knew I had to fix something.

Your business goals also seem like a very good place to start! How long will your family be around if you don’t mind me asking? But, generally, if I haven’t seen family members for some time, I tend to prioritize time with them over business. I do, however, still set certain time blocks albeit more flexible to get the core tasks done. I’m not sure what your schedule is between now and Tuesday, but what I would do is double time on my work and try to get as many things as I can done before they come. That way, I free up some more time for family and won’t have to stress too much about business. As you mentioned, I would stay off the distractions (social media, TV, entertainment, etc.) unless it’s absolutely necessary for some reason so I have more time between now and Tuesday. Once they come, I would do focused work- say, I have 30 minutes free, every minute would then be intensely devoted to business tasks so I get some important things out of the way.

Hope this helped!!! Thank you again for taking the time to read and comment. 🙂

  2. Awesome article Amiel! I haven’t seen an article ask questions like this. I like how you added the action steps instead of just saying “Create an Action Plan.” This is truly helpful.
My goals are to own my own business, get away from a day job, and grow it to a million. I have it in detail but it’s too long for the comments lol.
What’s one of your goals for this year?

    1. Hi Seth! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. 😀 Those are great goals! Mine is similar except for the million part. I’m aiming to start off with 100k in revenue and go from there. Thank you for asking. 🙂

  3. I know I am sometimes too independent to ask or help or mentor-ship, and this is a personal an issue I am trying to overcome. I can see that a program like this could be very helpful! I also love the strategy of writing down your goals, I have started to write my goals out for a few years and it has absolutely helped me to achieve them. Thanks for a great post!

    1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read and comment! I struggle with a similar thing- pride issues and feeling like I should be able to do it on my own. And, yes, definitely, I have been writing down my goals (and adjusting as necessary) and it has been really helpful in getting things done. Thanks again and best of luck in the coming year!!

  4. Hey Amiel,
Thank you for this awesome post! This is exactly what I needed right now! I was feeling like I was getting down and losing motivation due to not making much progress. This video has inspired me to just take it slow and set process goals! I tend to look at the big picture instead of focusing on ways to get there. I am going to try to change this and see what happens. My first big goal is to make 1 sale! That is totally attainable I just need to figure out my process. Thanks again, and happy New Year!!

    1. Hi Katie! I’m glad this helped you out! I feel the same way in the morning at times when I don’t get as much engagement as I expected and then Darren Hardy comes to the rescue 😀

I think all of us tend to want results FAST which I think is perfectly normal, btw, lol. I have to work on my patience and understand that great things take time. Also, I have read some of your posts and, you’re absolutely right, your goal is attainable. If there’s anything I can help you with, let me know! They say the first sale is one of the greatest feelings.:)

Thanks for reading and commenting and have a successful new year as well!

  5. Hi Amiel what an amazing post to conclude 2016 lol, I have learned so much from that short video of Darren Hardy, I have been focusing so much on my dreams.

After watching this video I learned something new and extremely important to focus on what I can do to achieve my dreams and grow everyday.

I have signed up for his free email list, and it’s so nice of him to make it available for us for free.

Thanks for sharing this amazing post and wish you a successfull 2017! 🙂

    1. Hi Anis! Great stuff! My sister and a few of my closest friends have already signed up as well and they love it. I hope you find it valuable also. 🙂 And yep, Darren definitely does great work. Check out his books also if you’d like- very informative. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Have a wonderful and successful 2017 also!

  6. Holly cow. So I too am an entrepreneur, but man is this helpful. I never thought about the 3 steps to goal setting like that. It opens up a whole new way of looking at it, plus makes it seem more REALISTIC to accomplish it regardless of the size. Thanks so much for this.

    AJ

    1. Hi AJ! And, yep, same here! This actually made it a lot simpler for me and makes me feel like it can actually propel me forward towards my goals.

Thank you for reading and commenting!
